I’m looking to take on a small sound effects design/editorial project, for a high quality indie platformer/casual game. Preferably a title that is on its home run stretch for release. I just need something to keep the nuts and bolts from rusting, and would like to create some fresh content prior to AGDC. If you or your team also has a permanent position available, I would consider all reasonable proposals as well.

I’m also familiar with visual scripting (e.g. UnrealED 3 Sound Cue, FMOD, etc..) and basic manual editorial of Torquescript. I can also assist with world design audio placement for GarageGames Torque, Valve’s Hammer, Bioware’s Aurora, and Epic’s UnrealED. So if you need help with implementation or implementation consulting, I can be of assistance.

I’m very familiar with content management systems, and can communicate via IRC, Teamspeak, Skype, and various instant messaging protocols.

Interested parties may contact me here.

I’ve used a lot a freeware windows applications over the years and quite a hefty amount of it has been disposable. For some of my basic needs I have been pretty confident with the following applications ever since using them. If you can make a recommendation of something better than listed here, I would love to hear your suggestions! (BTW all are windows applications, but some are multi platform)

Audio Player Foobar2000

A very solid light weight audio player. It doesn’t try to be anything else.

Multimedia Player VideoLAN VLC Media Player

Plays just about any media you could think of right off the bat. Great for watching DVDs.

Image Manipulation GIMPshop

This is a variant of GIMP that tries to capture the layout and feel of Photoshop for those who are already too used to the giant that is… It can be a bit fidgety at times, but it gets the job done.

Color Recognition ColorCop

A great little tool for web developers and graphic artists that allows you to grab colors off your screen and get readings in various modes such as RGB float, Hexadecimal and many more.

PDF Reader Foxit Reader

A great lightweight PDF reader, enough said.

FTP Client FileZilla

A very solid FTP client.

CD/DVD Burning Deep Burner

If you hate the candy coated look of Roxio…

Shell Integrated ISO Creator/Burner ISO Recorder

Best minimal ISO tool in teh world! Just a right click away from making or burning an ISO.

CD Ripping CDex

I’m fairly new to this application, but so far so good. It seems to be as uncrippled as you get for freeware CD rippers. It does not have any conversion (re-encoding) tools unfortunately.

Anti-Virus AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

A very lightweight anti-virus application with daily updates.

Web Browser Firefox + Adblock Plus

The best browser period combined with the best ad blocking out there. My only complaint would be the high memory usage and/or memory leak. One way to circumvent this is the addition of the config.trim_on_minimize entry.

I have a lot of old computer hardware laying around sitting in boxes, and I thought it would be a cool idea to display them on my wall. I first thought of nailing them through the holes usually in most PC hardware to an extremely large cork board, but then I thought of shadow boxes!

Shadow boxes come in many sizes and can be bought at pretty much any arts and crafts store. I bought a 9×11″ shadow box at Garden Ridge Pottery for $12(USD) and you can place pretty much any single slot PCI or AGP card in it with ease. (other than those long PCI/AT cards)

I’m going to eventually get more and cover my entire wall with old PC hardware, but for right now this will have to do.
