Notable items which are not in the beta version are a singleplayer game of any kind, and voices. These features will be in the retail and there will be a mission of the singleplayer game in the demo.

The game is in an Arena format right now which means the server only allows a single 1v1 game to play but up to 32 players can observe. We enjoy observing matches a great deal during testing, and we’d like to foster a culture of game-viewing and commentating as well as one of game-playing.

The game is currently in early stages of development, and a closed beta should be starting up here in a few weeks.

I’ll be sure to post when my audio portion of the project is complete and fully implemented.

  • A very solid light weight audio player. It doesn’t try to be anything else.

  • Plays just about any media you could think of right off the bat. Great for watching DVDs.

• Image Manipulation GIMPshop
  • This is a variant of GIMP that tries to capture the layout and feel of Photoshop for those who are already too used to the giant that is… It can be a bit fidgety at times, but it gets the job done.

• Color Recognition ColorCop
  • A great little tool for web developers and graphic artists that allows you to grab colors off your screen and get readings in various modes such as RGB float, Hexadecimal and many more.

• PDF Reader Foxit Reader
  • A great lightweight PDF reader, enough said.

• FTP Client FileZilla
  • A very solid FTP client.

• CD/DVD Burning Deep Burner
  • If you hate the candy coated look of Roxio…

• Shell Integrated ISO Creator/Burner ISO Recorder
  • Best minimal ISO tool in teh world! Just a right click away from making or burning an ISO.

• CD Ripping CDex
  • I’m fairly new to this application, but so far so good. It seems to be as uncrippled as you get for freeware CD rippers. It does not have any conversion (re-encoding) tools unfortunately.

• Anti-Virus AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition
  • A very lightweight anti-virus application with daily updates.

• Web Browser Firefox + Adblock Plus
  • The best browser period combined with the best ad blocking out there. My only complaint would be the high memory usage and/or memory leak. One way to circumvent this is the addition of the config.trim_on_minimize entry.
